Deferring and withdrawing

Pausing or leaving your studies, and what it means for fees.

Deferring your studies

If you need to pause your studies for health, work or personal reasons, speak to your faculty office before the published deadline. Approved deferrals let you return at an agreed later date.

Withdrawing from a module or programme

Submit a withdrawal request through the student portal or to your faculty office. The date of withdrawal affects your academic record and any fee refund.

Fees and refunds

Refunds are calculated under the University’s fees and refunds policy. Contact the Bursar’s office for your specific case.
